  COMPUTER AND WEB DESIGN

  

My name is Cecil Midgett.  I retired from the Navy after 21 years of active duty.  I have extensive training in computers and electronics.  My wife Jenea, and I graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University with honors. Jenea is a Kindergarten teacher for Guymon Public Schools.  We have 5 children, 2 boys and 3 girls.

Students in my computer classes will complete studies on the Microsoft Office 2007 software suite and additional software which is comparable to Office '07.  We have recently replaced our computers with new ones and upgraded the software to the latest available.  Additionally, the students will be learning about computer components, how components operate, how computer components work together and the way computers function with software.  I will be teaching the history of computers and my students will be exposed to the oldest and latest computer technology we can find. 

Students enrolled in my Web Programing classes will learn to design their own web sites using the HTML and XHTML programming languages.  The students will design web pages which will reflect their own interest and desires (within reason).  The content will be reviewed before posting but the design, colors and subject matter will be their own choice.  It is our hope that we will be able to post a link on the Hooker Public Schools web site which will take viewers to the students web pages when complete.
